Erik ten Hag remains trusted by Manchester United to continue as manager despite poor results this season
Wayne Rooney has slammed Erik ten Hag’s substitution tactics after Manchester United’s poor Premier League campaign this season.
“Some of the changes he makes, you never see top teams changing their centre-backs. Or their back four during a game, but with him it’s a regular thing,” the former Red Devils striker told the Stick to Football podcast.
“For example, Marcus Rashford, against Porto, he was the best I’ve ever seen him. But to take him off at half-time and Ten Hag tell us there’s another game at the weekend, that’s just ridiculous.”
Ten Hag signed a new contract in the summer last month. And club chief executive Omar Berrada said the manager had the club’s full backing.
While the pressure on Ten Hag is clearly mounting, reports say the club’s hierarchy. Will always consider such situations carefully, rather than making a hasty decision immediately after a bad result.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag will face a serious challenge this week with trips to Porto in the Europa League. And Aston Villa in the Premier League before the October international break.
“I guarantee you during the international break you will see videos of him training with the coach outside the training ground, so if he can’t play two games in a week he should rest,” Rooney said to http://ufabet999.app.
As for Manchester United’s current position, they are ranked 14th in the Premier League table, having played 7 matches, won 2, lost 3 and drawn 2, with 8 points, 10 points behind the leader Liverpool.
