Nicolas Jackson produce good work as he held up the ball and then powere towards the Cherries’ penalty box before sliding a nice through ball to Palmer.

From there the former Manchester City man calmly dummied a shot, put the Bournemouth goalkeeper on the floor and rolled the ball into an empty net.

Ferdinand loved the audacity, saying it was outrageous from the Chelsea superstar.

‘It’s rude,’ Ferdinand said on. ‘It was rude. It’s out of order, it’s in the school playground you do that. It’s rude, outrageous really.

‘I’ll pay to watch him every day of the week because I know I’m going to get something like that that will get me off my seat and make me scream.’

Peter Crouch was stunned by the calm nature of Palmer under pressure, saying he reminds him of former Arsenal and Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil.

‘It reminds me of Mesut Ozil a little bit, the calmness, it’s almost too casual, just sits the goalkeeper down,’ said Crouch.

‘The amount of people that get in that position, packed stadium and lash it over the bar or wide, the ability for a young man to stop it, put the keeper down and roll it into an empty net, that’s what makes him special.’

It was a great start for Chelsea and they had chances to extend their lead, but they spurned them and fell behind after goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo.

It took a stoppage time free-kick from Reece James to rescue a point, although Enzo Maresca felt his team deserved all three.

The Blues boss told ‘I think first half we completely deserve to win the game. We should have score three goals. When we concede in the second half, we dropped. We deserve to win the game when we create so many chances.
